At Stride Footcare, your treatment is never just about reducing pain, it’s about understanding the cause, protecting the injured tissue, and building long-term resilience so the problem doesn’t return.

This structured approach is based on current evidence and aligns with what Australians value most in healthcare: clear explanations, practical guidance, personalised care, and support to prevent future issues (NAB Health Insights Report 2025).

Our Prevent • Protect • Progress™ framework guides every treatment plan, whether you’re dealing with plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, a bone stress injury, forefoot pain, or recurring running-related issues.

Prevent. Protect. Progress

Stride Footcare’s Patient Education and Progression Framework

Prevent

Understand the cause. Reduce irritation. Build the foundations for healing.

Many people arrive frustrated because they’ve never been told why their injury happened.

This stage focuses on identifying the underlying drivers of your pain so you can make informed, confident decisions about your recovery.

What we assess in this phase:

  • Training or load errors (too much, too soon, too fast)

  • Footwear and how it affects biomechanics

  • Strength, tendon capacity, and mobility

  • Impact tolerance, and previous injuries

  • Running or walking technique

  • Occupational demands and daily habits

What this achieves:

  • Reduces stress on the injured area

  • Helps symptoms settle faster

  • Prevents repeated flare-ups

  • Gives you clarity and control over your recovery

Protect

Calm the pain. Support the tissue. Keep you moving safely.

Instead of complete rest, which often slows recovery, we adjust your activity levels to settle symptoms while maintaining strength and mobility.

Your protection plan may include:

  • Modified weight-bearing or loading (especially for tendonopathies)

  • Supportive taping, padding, orthotics or footwear changes

  • Short-term offloading strategies for acute pain

  • Shockwave therapy for plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendinopathy

  • Low-irritability exercises that support early healing

  • Education so you know exactly what’s safe

What this achieves:

  • Reduces pain quickly

  • Protects the tissue during healing

  • Maintains the strength you already have

  • Builds confidence — one of the strongest predictors of recovery

Progress

Rebuild strength. Restore function. Prevent recurrence.

Once symptoms are stable, we guide you through the stage most often overlooked in traditional care: long-term capacity building.

This is where we reduce your risk of reinjury and help you perform at your best, whether that means running, hiking, walking the dog, or returning to sport.

Your progression plan may include:

  • Strengthening (bodyweight → resistance → heavy slow loading)

  • Tendon-specific rehabilitation (energy storage & plyometrics)

  • Bone-specific loading (impact progression, speed, variability)

  • Calf, foot, and hip strength to support efficient movement

  • Reaching outcome measures

What this achieves:

  • Builds durable, resilient tissues

  • Restores full performance

  • Prevents the cycle of repeated flare-ups

  • Gives you the confidence to return to what you love
